Congratulations! You have finally reached the final and most important stage of your training, your OBGYN Residency. Finding the right program can be an exhausting task. With so much information to process, you will be spending hours comparing programs, applying, going on interviews, touring hospitals and meeting faculty. I am happy you have chosen to visit our website and even happier you are reading yet another program director’s letter.

Here at St. Joseph’s we offer training with a difference. That difference is a friendly, supportive environment designed to make learning stimulating and fun, providing comprehensive training to the next generation of leaders in the field, dedicated to fostering a rigorous and rich learning experience. Our residency program embraces the value of diversity in every definition. Our department recognizes the importance of creating an inclusive training and learning environment. Furthermore, we believe that fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in our trainees are essential for achieving excellence in patient care. We are looking for applicants who bring enthusiasm, compassion, and innovation, and for those with diverse identities, experiences, and backgrounds. From day one of your residency you will become part of a diverse team dedicated to giving our diverse patient population the best care available while providing you with a rich context for learning, and the education necessary to become compassionate, well-rounded, and board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. We aim towards the future; giving you the tools to become leaders in our rapidly changing profession and health care system. With 12 residents and a faculty of 17 attendings, Midwives, and advanced practice providers who work closely with the residents, we are able to provide our residents with extensive hands on training which is a distinguishing characteristic of our program to help each resident reach their full potential. Our faculty will mentor your professional growth, while giving you the emotional support, advice and encouragement you need to cope with the demands of training. We take great pride in our graduates and they take great pride in their training. Never was “St. Joseph’s pride” more evident than during the corona virus pandemic when residents and faculty band together to face the unique challenges presented to us during the crisis. Residency should be the most exciting, intellectually stimulating and rewarding time of your life. Spend a few minutes exploring these pages to find out why St. Joseph’s may be the program for you. Learn about our world-class hospitals, educational curriculum, simulation center, rotations, and our location. We’re sure you’ll like what you see!
