Who can get tested?
All New Jersey Residents over 8 years of age are eligible to get tested. Please note, minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
I don’t have symptoms. Should I get tested?
Testing is most appropriate when you have symptoms or, if you have no symptoms, but have had confirmed exposure to a known positive case.
I tested positive a few days ago, when can I get retested?
If you tested positive for COVID-19, we recommend you follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention quarantine guidelines of at least 10 days. Someone with COVID-19 can continue to test positive for up to 3 months, even though they have recovered. If you require a negative test for your place of employment, we can retest you after 10 days from the day you tested positive.
Is testing free?
We accept insurance. Please bring your insurance card with you. However, if you do not have insurance, you will not be charged for a COVID-19 test.
Do I need a doctor’s prescription?
You do not need a doctor’s prescription to get tested. All you will need is a picture ID and insurance card.
Do you provide rapid testing?
We do not offer rapid testing. Our testing is SARS-COVID by PCR.
When will I receive my results?
Your results will be uploaded on to My St. Joseph’s Record, patient portal after 24 to 48 hours. You can access the patient portal by enrolling at https://stjosephshealth.iqhealth.com/self-enroll/. If you have any difficulties obtaining your results, feel free to call us at 973-754-2122, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We will return your call within 1-2 business days.
