St. Joseph's Healthcare System will sponsor a series of workshops

designed for teachers, school nurses and guidance counselors.

1600 Valley Road, Wayne, New Jersey 07470

According to the American Psychological Association, in a dysfunctional family, the relationships among family members detract from, rather than promote, the emotional and physical health and well-being of its members. Ms. Lantigua will describe the characteristics of dysfunctional families, outline the signs of unhealthy parenting and dysfunctional parenting styles and summarize the impact on children. She will offer strategies to promote resilience in children at risk and discuss the benefits of professional intervention for both and child and family.
