Mission & Goals

The specific goals and objectives of the program are to:

  • Gain proficiency in the diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of adult and pediatric patients with musculoskeletal disorders in order to maximize patient outcomes and restore functional status.
  • Gain confidence and competency in developing and implementing treatment plans for patients with a variety of orthopedic pathologies in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Develop a variety of technical skills and experience in the surgical management of musculoskeletal disorders. Residents are expected to demonstrate increased autonomy in the operating room, resulting in the ability to operate competently and independently.
  • Develop leadership, interpersonal, and professional skills to effectively communicate with patients, their families, and other members of the healthcare team.
