Mission & Goals

St. Joseph’s Internal Medicine Residency prepares internal medicine physicians to care for an array of patients focusing on both hospital based and outpatient medicine. Our mission is to:

• Create the next generation of physicians capable of dealing with the ever changing complexities of medicine in regard to both medical knowledge and high quality, low –cost, effective care
• Create an academic environment that facilitates learning while maintaining timely and safe patient care
• Provide first class medical care while treating all patients who come before us with unwavering expertise and dedication
• Serve our community  with dignity and justice especially those who are vulnerable and underserved
• Allow for exposure to medicine subspecialties and interdisciplinary learning opportunities
• Create new knowledge through research, medical education and quality improvement projects
