Volunteer

St. Joseph’s Health offers a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout our healthcare system.   Volunteers are an essential part of healthcare team and play an important role in contributing to the excellence of care that we strive to provide to our patients and their families with each and every interaction.  

Volunteer Opportunities are available in the following locations and assignments vary from clerical to non-clinical direct patient contact.   This will all be discussed in detail during the applicant’s interview. 

Please note that our volunteer program does not offer shadowing, observation or internship opportunities.

  • Community Outreach- if not able to make a weekly commitment but would be interested in volunteering for a Community Outreach event/program, please email community_outreach@sjhmc.org.

  • Imaging Centers

Volunteer Schedules are flexible and based upon the needs of the departments and the availability of the volunteer.   Please be assured that we work closely and do our best to match each volunteer with their ideal assignment.   Generally, volunteers commit to doing a minimum of 4 hours once a week and must commit to volunteering a minimum of 60 hours.

Our Program has a long-standing history of recruiting trainees from varying cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We utilizing ASGE to recruit from a pool of the most-qualified American and International graduates. We are proud of the diversity of our Program as we maintain a balanced fellow complement of diverse ethnic, racial, and gender backgrounds.  Our Selection Committee is committed to ensure our balanced approach in the selection and retention of our fellows. 

Our training program has faculty and administrative support personnel from diverse educational and ethnic backgrounds as well as genders. This serves to enhance our fellows training experience and provides for a well-rounded approach to didactic and clinical education.  It is our goal to recruit motivated faculty members who share our passion for teaching and who will serve as role models of professionalism.
