Gynecologic Robotic Surgery

St. Joseph’s University Medical Center offers a robust Robotic Surgery program through the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. There are currently four Robotic Surgeons who have mastered advanced laparoscopic procedures utilizing the robot to perform hysterectomy, myomectomy (removal of fibroids) adnexal (tube and ovary) surgery, infertility and repair of pelvic floor disorders including prolapse and incontinence.

Utilizing state of the art technology and skills these procedures offer a minimally invasive approach allowing patients to enjoy a shorter hospital stay and a quicker road to recovery. We currently perform our hysterectomies utilizing the minimally invasive approach when the clinical situation allows.  We utilize this approach more than twice the national average where most cases are still performed by an open abdominal incision.
