Behavioral Health Services St. Joseph's Health serves adults, adolescents and children with a specific focus on those individuals with serious and persistent mental illness and dual diagnosis. Service delivery is client-centered and based on the principles of wellness and recovery and our core values of dignity, justice, excellence and stewardship.

The mission of the Department of Psychiatry is to provide a wide range of programs and facilities enabling consumers of the mental health services to function as productively and independently as possible for the enrichment of the individual. The primary goal is to help consumers reach and maintain their highest level of functioning socially, psychologically, vocationally, economically and in their living arrangements of choice.

ACCESS Deaf Services

Based at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson and funded by the NJ State Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services, ACCESS provides community-based mental health services to deaf and hard of hearing people throughout New Jersey. The offices are located at 621 Main Street in Paterson, New Jersey.
