New parents have many questions when preparing for the birth of their newborn. The Childbirth Education Department provides a variety of opportunities for learning these skills.
Classes are regularly scheduled for expectant parents in Lamaze, Breastfeeding and Infant care. Certified instructors teach all sessions.
When your baby is here, the education continues. We have Lactation Consultants who are available to answer your questions and support you through those first challenging days.

Labor and Delivery
Patients who deliver their babies at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center can expect to find a warm, supportive staff that will guide you through the birth of your baby. The Labor area consists of 8 private rooms where you will labor, deliver, and recover. Your significant other is welcome to stay with you for the birth of your infant.
Maternal Fetal Medicine
St. Joseph’s Regional Perinatal Center provides highly skilled obstetrical care to expectant mothers in the Northern New Jersey area. Dr. Aldo Khoury, Department Director, is a Board-certified Perinatologist. Additionally, St. Joseph’s also has two Board-certified perinatologists, Dr. David Principe and Dr. Christopher Sullivan. Beside the active clinic at the Regional Perinatal Center, all three physicians maintain private practices in the area.
