Incidence of chronic kidney disease is increasing, most likely as a result of increased instances of obesity, diabetes, and high blood pressure. There are nearly 500,000 patients with dialysis and transplantation in the United States. With the disease, most of the time there are no symptoms or signs. Frequent urination, blood in urine, foaming in urine, or swelling in eyes or legs can be signs of kidney disease and should be paid attention to. People at high risk include those with a family history, diabetics and hypertensives as well as those with cardiovascular diseases. Different blood pressure medications used can have a severe impact in kidney health. The key in kidney disease is early detection and treatment.
