In treating both acute and chronic pain conditions, the staff at Total Pain Care, P.A., at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, use a broad spectrum of methods and resources including medical management, state-of-the-art interventional procedures and the expertise and input of doctors in related specialties.
The center offers Board-certified physicians in the area of interventional pain management with backgrounds in surgery, physical medicine, rehabilitation and anesthesiology. There are three full-time physicians, a physician's assistant, a nurse manager, two part-time physicians and three office support personnel. The Physicians practicing pain management have subspecialty training in pain medicine. This broad scope of training ensures that each patient receives an optimal level of care. Our quality care starts with the development of an individualized patient assessment and continues with the creation of a treatment plan. We establish goals and outcomes and provide a treatment plan to decrease pain and increase the quality of life.
This practice, along with St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, helps to sponsor a Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy support group for both patients and family members that meets at the hospital.
Michael Umanoff, MD, Brian Jakubowicz, MD, and Uzma Parvez, MD, are the physicians on staff. Our physicians have expertise in the treatment of pain of spinal origin, as well as other painful conditions. They are members of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the New Jersey State Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the New Jersey Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
