St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) has been sponsoring and accrediting Continuing Medical Education (CME) conferences for over 30 years,
with accreditation through the Medical Society of New Jersey. As an academic tertiary care medical center, CME is an integral part of our culture. Through the health care system's advancements in technology, numerous conferences, and lectures are teleconferenced for our physicians at St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital.
Lectures are provided for the medical staff by the departments of Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, and Surgery, with topics based on physician's need, requested updates or introduction to new technology, procedure or treatment. Speakers are outside experts in the field and/or members of our medical staff.
Pediatric Grand Rounds take place on Tuesday in the Johnson Auditorium at 8:30 AM and Medicine Grand Rounds take place on Wednesday at 8:00 AM in the Giggles/Seton 2 Conference Room.
All departments present monthly Mortality & Morbidity conferences that encourage learning in a safe environment for attending physicians and residents in training. Additionally, our Hematology/Oncology department provides a weekly tumor board to discuss interesting cases.
As a recognized stroke center, an annual stroke conference is held every year with renowned speakers on stroke-related topics of interest for Internists and Neurologists.
All physicians within the community and at St. Joseph's Healthcare System are welcome to attend these lectures. CME credits are provided free of charge.
