Visiting Hours

Visiting a Patient

St. Joseph's Healthcare System encourages family and friends to visit patients. Since certain visiting situations may be detrimental to patients, please follow these general guidelines when visiting.

St. Joseph's Healthcare System Visiting Hours (in Paterson)

General visiting hours are from 8:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Intensive Care/Coronary Care Units

12 a.m. - 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Short visits by immediate family members are permitted.

• Visitors must obtain a visitors pass at the Information Desk

• Up to two visitors may visit with a patient at a given time. Please consult with the nurse manager and attending physician if more than two visitors are present

• Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Open Heart Recovery

11 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

2 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

6 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Wayne Visiting Hours

11 a.m. - 8 p.m.

St. Vincent's Visiting Hours

Patients may receive calls from 8 a.m. - 10 p.m., but may call out at any time.

Parking Information For St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center

Visitor Parking at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center and St. Joseph's Children's Hospital

Our new spacious parking garage, opened in July 2011, is conveniently located adjacent the Main Lobby entrance to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center/St. Joseph's Children's Hospital at 703 Main Street, Paterson.

Garage parking is provided for a nominal fee (effective as of January 1st 2012):

1 hour - $5.00

2 hours - $6.00

3 hours - $8.00

Over 3 hours - $9.00

The maximum is $9.00 (24 hrs.)

An "All Day Pass" (available upon request) allows the pass holder to leave and return to the parking garage several times during the day. The cost for this service is $9.00.

Valet parking is also available at the Main Lobby driveway entrance to the Regional Medical Center. Please notify the attendant if you would like to valet park.

Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. (Flat Rate: $10.00)

Saturday and Sunday, 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. (Flat Rate: $10.00)

Please note: Re-entry passes are not available for valet.

Parking at the Emergency Room entrance:

Emergency Department Patient Valet parking is free.

Emergency Department valet parking is available for a flat rate of $10.

Visitor self-park parking is available 24 hrs. / 7 days (See rate schedule below)

Up to 2 hours - $6.00

Up to 3 hours - $8.00

Over 3 hours - $9.00

Employee Parking:

Employees are required to park in the Employee's parking lot located behind the main building.

Job applicants should park in the visitors parking area.

Parking at the St. Vincent's Nursing Home is free.

8 a.m. - 8 p.m.

There is no valet parking at St. Vincent's.

This is on a first come basis, with a driver's permit.

St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital, a division of St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center

"Café Wayne" is located on the third floor of the hospital. Breakfast and lunch are served. Hours of operation are: Monday - Friday: 7 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. (breakfast) and 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (lunch).

"Express Oh! And more..." food kiosk is located in the main lobby.

Monday - Sunday: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Vending machines are available 24 hours a day in various locations throughout the hospital, including the main lobby, the second floor waiting room (near the elevator alcove), third floor hallway outside the café, and in the Emergency Department.

St. Vincent's Nursing Home

Although St. Vincent's Nursing Home does not have a cafeteria, family members, and visitors of our residents are given a discounted meal for the entrée or alternate entrée items of that meal service. To participate, you must order and pay for the meal voucher in advance by speaking with Martha Agnello at 973.754.4827. If you wish to talk with the Nutritionist ask the nurse for information.
