After volunteering with 3 young disabled girls as part of her Girl Scout Silver Award project, Sabrina Qanaah (resident of Wanaque), acquired an interest for learning more about how to help those with Speech and Hearing disabilities. As part of her Gold Award project for Girl Scout Troop 70063, Sabrina organized a donation drive at a local community fair to benefit St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, as well as an educational presentation at the Wanaque Public Library regarding Speech, Hearing and Language Disorders in Children, to help raise awareness. Her generous donation of games, books and other items will be used during play therapy for Pediatric Speech Therapy Services in the Rehabilitation Medicine Department at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital.
