The St. Joseph's Concussion Center provides a comprehensive assessment and treatment of traumatic brain injury.
Approximately twenty percent of concussions are sports-related and many athletes may minimize or simply not recognize persistent post-concussion symptoms. St. Joseph's Concussion Center offers a program designed specifically for athletes.
- Baseline preseason sports cognitive screening and assessment for use in diagnosing and treating sports related concussions. For $10, your child can receive an initial baseline assessment. Athletes can take these tests individually or in a group before the start of a season.
- Detailed screening and assessment of concussions using ImPACTTM, a computerized neuropsychological test to evaluate concussion impact on the brain's cognitive abilities.
- Treatment, evaluation and follow-up.
All services are provided by our team of specially trained Neuro-Nurse Practioners and Neurological, Psychological and Rehabilitation Subspecialists. BAE Systems has generously funded complimentary ImPACTTM testing for local students involved in athletics.
