Paterson, NJ [April 26, 2011] - The 12-foot high bronze sculpture that graces the new main entrance to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, designed and created by J. Michael Larsen of Perkins, Oklahoma, portrays the range of patient care provided at St. Joseph’s Healthcare System through the figures of a surgeon, a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, as well as young and elderly patients. Each figure faces one of the four compass directions representing solidity with the Sister facing true north gazing toward the entrance of the hospital. The sculpture will be repositioned at the center of the main entry courtyard when construction of the circular driveway is completed.
