PATERSON, NJ [MARCH 16, 2009] - Pat DiPietro, RN, CDE and Mary Schneider, RN, CDE, Certified Diabetes Educators from the John Victor Machuga Diabetes Education Center at St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital in Wayne, NJ, provided two one-hour workshops on diabetes to women at Oasis: A Center for Women & Children. They explained the importance of reading food labels and encouraged the ladies to include more fruits and vegetables in their diets. The workshop, one of many others, was part of a daylong community outreach program, which included nurses and other staff from various specialties and departments through out St. Joseph's Healthcare System.
