Total Pain Care, P.A.

In treating both acute and chronic pain conditions, the staff at Total Pain Care, P.A., at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, use a broad spectrum of methods and resources including medical management, state-of-the-art interventional procedures and the expertise and input of doctors in related specialties.

There are four physicians, a nurse coordinator and three office support personnel. All of the physicians practicing pain management are Board-certified in both anesthesiology and pain medicine with additional training in either internal medicine or surgery. This broad scope of training ensures that each patient receives an optimal level of care. Our quality care starts with the development of an individualized patient assessment and continues with the creation of a treatment plan. We establish goals and outcomes and specify a time frame in which a decrease in pain and increase in quality of life can be expected.

We sponsor a Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy support group for both patients and family members that meets at the hospital.

Michael Umanoff, MD, Mark Badach, MD, Harini Krottapalli, MD, and Cathy Russo, MD, are the physicians on staff. Dr. Umanoff has expertise in the treatment of pain of spinal origin, as well as other painful conditions. He has advanced training in the newest modalities available and is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the New Jersey State Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the New Jersey Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
