Occupational Therapy The Department of Occupational Therapy (OT) at St. Joseph’s cares for pediatric and adult patients whose lives have been disrupted by physical injury, illness, social, developmental and psychological difficulties. The OT Department focuses on upper extremity impairment and the performance of daily activities. Individualized treatment is formulated to improve the patient’s performance at home, school, sports and work. There are certified hand therapists on staff. Services
Physical Therapy The Physical Therapy Department (PT) at St. Joseph’s offers comprehensive services to all patients. The pediatric patient populations are served by pediatric physical therapists who are experienced in working with children from infancy to adolescence. Clinicians integrate a variety of handling techniques and physical modalities to achieve developmental milestones and motor skill goals, for both the inpatient and outpatient populations. Sensory integrative and neurodevelopment approaches are incorporated into each individual plan of care. The pediatric physical therapists also support the Neuromuscular program, performing physical therapy evaluations both before and after botulism toxin injections, as well as the Craniofacial Center and other orthopaedic programs. Special equipment and orthotic needs are addressed on an individual basis. Services
