Established in 2009, the Emergency Medicine Scribe Program is designed to assist the physicians in our department in handling the large number of non-direct patient care requirements they face every day. The ED Clinical Scribes, college students from some of the top colleges and universities in the area, free up valuable time for the physicians they are assigned. This enables the physicians to focus on their primary goal: providing high quality care to the acute ill and injured. During their shifts the scribes focus on:
Currently our per diem scribes workforce (over 40 employees) come from a diverse range of backgrounds, including pre-medical and pre-dental undergraduate students and other graduate students. The scribe position is an excellent opportunity for those interested in experiencing modern healthcare provided in one of the busiest emergency departments in the State of NJ.
