Spine/Scoliosis

The Spine Surgery Center at St. Joseph's is an academically-oriented, comprehensive service in the treatment of adult and pediatric spinal disorders utilizing both surgical and non-surgical care.

As pioneers in their field, the surgeons at the Spine Surgery Center are academically accomplished, fellowship trained and committed above all to the welfare of our patients. They believe each patient is a full partner in his/her treatment and recommend treatment protocols on a highly-individualized basis utilizing the most advanced surgical and non-surgical techniques.

The Spine Surgery Center incorporates inpatient and outpatient programs that embrace new and advanced technologies, which may be used to speed a patient's recovery.

Scoliosis affects 1 in every 1,000 children throughout the world.  St. Joseph’s Healthcare System’s spine surgeons are the only New Jersey doctors participating in a Scoliosis Genetic Marker physician panel.  By taking a blood test from your child, our surgeons will be able to have a genetic insight to assist in predicting the rate of progression of the scoliosis, the possible outcomes and the natural history of scoliosis within the patient’s family.  Knowing in advance whether or not to put your child in a brace or to perform surgery will have a huge impact on your child’s life.

Our surgeons speak English, Spanish, Farsi, and Korean.
