The Department of Dentistry provides inpatient and outpatient dental and oral and maxillofacial surgery services to children of all ages. In addition to managing urgencies and emergencies, dentists provide comprehensive oral health care including the full spectrum of diagnostic and treatment services. The department’s pediatric dentists and orthodontists are specially trained to care for children with cleft lip and palate.

The Department of Dentistry provides special care for medically complex patients and for mentally and physically challenged children with oral health needs. The oral and maxillofacial surgery section manages trauma patients as well as patients with head and neck tumors, congenital and acquired deformities and those requiring sedation for dental treatment.

Academic affiliations include Seton Hall University School of Graduate Health and Medical Services and Columbia University College of Dental Medicine.

Members of the department are available for inpatient consultation and are on call 24 hours a day to the Emergency Department to provide emergency services for patients who have acute oral surgical needs.
