Pediatric Emergency

peds3As the busiest Pediatric Emergency Department in New Jersey, our Fellowship-trained, Board-certified Pediatric Emergency Medicine physicians provide care to children from birth to their 21st birthday, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

 

Directly affiliated with St. Joseph's Children's Hospital, patients are provided with a large array of pediatric sub-specialtists who assist in the care of any emergency from a sprained ankle to complications due to a major cardiac birth defect.

 

Additionally, the Pediatric Emergency Department provides pediatric trauma emergency services and pediatric psychiatric services.

Some of the highlighted programs include:

  • Child Protection & Safety Center - This certified center is lead by the Chief of the Pediatric Emergency Department, David R. Kroning, MD, who is a certified specialist in child abuse services.  The Pediatric Emergency Department works closely with the Division of Youth and Family Services who provide consultations when necessary.

 

 

St. Joseph’s Healthcare System is dedicated to the safety of our community by offering outreach education programs, including:

ENCARE - Teen program indicating the dangers of driving while under the influence

Trauma rooo - Programs for children include bicycle helmet safety and anti-bully

Car Seat Safety Technicians - Check the installation of your baby’s car seat
