For more than 20 years, the Child Development Center at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital has been providing comprehensive evaluation and follow-up services for children with confirmed or suspected developmental or behavioral concerns, and works closely with speech, hearing, and physical therapists for disabling conditions including autism. With 1,500 evaluations and more than 7,000 visits per year, we are a major treatment center for Northern New Jersey.

The center provides corrective treatment and follow-up care, in collaboration with a team of specialists, to enable children from infancy to age 21 to reach their full potential. In doing so, special emphasis is placed on improving a child's motivation, self-esteem and self-assurance.

Referrals are made by physicians, parents, community agencies and schools.
