At St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital there are Anesthesiologists who are Board-certified in anesthesia and have special training in pdiatric aesthesia. They are able to ease the stress of young patients by employing the latest techniques in operative care and pain management. Parents and children are encouraged to attend pre-operative tours of the operating room facilities. Parents accompany their children in pre-operative induction rooms and are present in the recovery room when their child wakes up. This minimizes stress for the patient and the family.
