The Department of Radiology at St. Joseph’s Healthcare System offers a full range of diagnostic imaging tests and procedures, performing over 200,000 imaging exams each year. While some imaging exams, such as routine x-rays, CT scan, or mammography, use carefully controlled radiation to create the images, other types of exams do not, such as ultrasound which uses sound waves to create pictures of the body and MRI which relies on strong magnetic fields.
For our patients’ convenience, there are three locations within St. Joseph’s Health System that provide all or most of the different types of imaging exams. Our radiologists are Board-certified having undergone advanced training, evaluation, and testing. They are fully qualified to “read” your imaging exam.
Recently, Dr. Yuppa and Dr. Milman passed the certification examination for practitioners in the field of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (CCT), making them the only Radiology group in New Jersey to have 2 radiologists that are both Level 3 certified cardiac CTA interpreters and CCT Board certified.
All exams are performed at the request of an ordering physician. That is why, at the time of your appointment, you will need to bring in the prescription from your doctor for your scheduled test.
Two of our three locations have an imaging exam storage system called PACS. With PACS, our radiologists have the ability to look at your exam images even if they are not at the location where you had your exam. This allows us to have your exam read quickly so that your doctor can receive your results sooner. We will be expanding our PACS system to all three locations
At each of our locations, we strive to provide the highest levels of imaging excellence and patient safety. Proudly, we enjoy full accreditation status from the American College of Radiology for excellence in Mammography, CT and Ultrasound.
