Employee Testimonial

St. Joseph's Healthcare System is near and dear to me for personal reasons. I consider it a great opportunity to be part of such an amazing group of individuals and a healthcare system that makes such a difference.

How St. Joseph's Matches Up
For over 140 years, St. Joseph’s Healthcare System has been the leading healthcare provider of choice in New Jersey.

In 1867, when the Sisters of Charity of St Elizabeth opened St. Joseph’s Hospital, 102 patients were admitted. Today we care for and treat over 1.3 million patients.

St Joseph’s has always responded to the needs of the community it serves. When a smallpox epidemic broke out in Paterson in 1883, the Hospital opened a contagion ward.

In 1896, St. Joseph’s answered the typhoid fever epidemic by treating over 1,200 patients.

St. Joseph’s had the first horse drawn ambulance in the state of New Jersey.

Since its beginning, St. Joseph’s has always responded to the needs of the community. Today, St. Joseph’s continues to advance the care and treatment for patients through its numerous health services including our Neurology Stroke Center, Cardiac Catherization Unit, Pain Management Center, and our Magnetic Resonance Imaging Center.

St. Joseph’s is the largest employer in Passaic County, with employees who are committed to St. Joseph’s Mission of providing excellent, compassionate care.
