Graduates of St. Joseph’s residency program have always been accepted into the most competitive fellowships in the United States.

Research
There is a program of clinical and basic research and some of the activities and products of these endeavors are presented in scientific journals and meetings. Another area of research is the involvement with industry sponsored clinical trials.

St. Joseph's faculty promotes the use of evidence-based medicine in clinical discussions, rounds and conferences. Residents and faculty participate in journal clubs, which emphasize a critical appraisal of the medical literature. An understanding of the fundamentals of clinical study design and evaluation of research findings are taught in the annual Research Methods course, conducted by the Director of Resident Research. Prior to graduation each resident will complete an activity such as original research or a comprehensive case report. Many residents participate in the annual Seton Hall University School of Health & Medical Science Research Colloquium.

How to Apply

For Fellowships:
Complete an application electronically through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). No paper applications are accepted.

For General Dentistry and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Residencies:
Complete an application through the Postdoctoral Application Support Service (PASS).
