The Children’s Hospital at St. Joseph’s

Parents, like their children, come to school with unique expectations, experiences and demands. Teachers and other school staff are challenged to create trusting, equitable relationships with parents, enlist their partnership and support for their child.

Dr. Gauderer will describe the stages of engaging parents, offer strategies for fostering mutual respect, stress the importance of ongoing communication and provide guidelines for managing difficult encounters.

This program will be held at William Paterson University, 1600 Valley Road, Wayne.
