Guest Speaker: Lou Ann Damsma, LCCE, CLC, Certified Educator of Infant Massage, Operations Coordinator, Life Support and Childbirth Education, St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center
Numerous studies confirm the importance of nurturing, loving touch to promote the healthy growth and development of babies. Gentle massage helps relax and decreases stress for a baby, relieves discomfort from gas and colic, helps ease congestion and stimulates brain development. Most of all, massage promotes parent-child bonding. The instructor will demonstrate the various massage methods, show parents how to recognize subtle cues from their baby and suggest ways to include in a baby’s daily schedule.
Please bring a comfortable blanket or quilt for your baby to rest on during the massage session.
This class will be held at the Preakness School Gymnasium, 1006 Hamburg Turnpike, Wayne. The registration fee is $ 15. |
