St. Joseph's Regional Center proudly announces the unveiling of its:

CENTER FOR EMERGENCY MEDICINE STUDIES (CENTEMS)

The center draws upon St. Joseph's vast and multidisciplinary clinical resources to provide educational programs in all aspects of Emergency Medicine.

The educational offerings include a wide array of conferences, traditional classroom-based programs, and hands-on clinical simulations geared especially for physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, paramedics, and EMT's as well as other allied health and emergency services providers.

Beginning in April 2010, the center offered its Tactical Airway Management Course and sponsored the enormously successful 2nd Annual Emergency Medicine Symposium. The program session was rounded out with International Trauma Life Support, Alternate Care Site, Emergency Operations Center/ICS, Active Shooter, and Firefighter Rehabilitation.

Emergency Department Symposium

The Fall/Winter 2010 session will continue with an impressive array of programs including Large Volume Emergency Department Patient Simulation, Live Patient Simulation Lab - Initial E.D. Nursing Stabilization of Stroke Patients, and Firefighter Physiology Study.

The center is working to offer additional continuing education programs for local Emergency Medical Technicians to help provide free and low-cost training to offset the loss of state educational funding. These programs will be posted when available. Stay tuned!
