The Ambulatory Care Center for Surgical and Interventional Services at St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital provides comprehensive services for patients who are undergoing surgery, interventional radiology procedures, medical outpatient procedures, chemotherapy, or intravenous infusion services.The health care team consists of experienced physicians, registered nurses, and support staffs that have received advanced training and are skilled in caring for patients who are undergoing a range of surgical or other interventional procedures. Following admission to the Center, every patient is fully assessed by members of the health care team. A registered nurse will provide information and education regarding the procedure or treatment. Patients will also have the opportunity to discuss their treatment and ask questions. Once the procedure is completed, the patient will recover in the privacy of his/her room and will be closely monitored by nursing staff. Instructions related to postoperative care, managing pain, and recovery after discharge are modified to meet the unique needs of each individual patient.
