Paterson, NJ – (August 2, 2010) - St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) in Paterson, New Jersey, received the Chain of Survival Award from the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association, and accolades from New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, for its trend setting work in using pre-hospital therapeutic cooling to save the lives of cardiac arrest patients.

SJCH Recognizes Junior Champion for ChildrenPaterson, NJ (July 01, 2010) – St. Joseph's Children's Hospital(SJCH) at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) in Paterson, recognized 9 year-old Karley Martinez of Hasbrouck Heights as a "Junior Champion for Children". Karley's school is involved in a TREPS Program (an entrepreneurship education program where students learn to develop and start a business), and her project, along with fellow classmate Nalinie Thaker (not pictured) involved the creation of a company that raised money. At the end of the project, Karley decided that she wanted to donate the funds she had raised to St. Joseph's Children's Hospital. Christopher J. Farrell, Director of Major Gifts, SJRMC Foundation, and Michael Lamacchia, MD, Chairman, Pediatrics, SJCH, welcomed Karley to the Children's Hospital where they received her generous donation and presented her with a certificate commending her for helping other children in need.

SJRMC Foundation Hosts 36th Annual Golf ClassicPaterson, NJ (July 01, 2010)– The St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) Foundation recently hosted its 36th Annual Golf Classic at the Montclair Golf Club in West Orange, New Jersey. 240 golfers joined volunteers and staff, and helped raise more than $300,000 to support upcoming projects at the Medical Center.

For the sixth consecutive year, the event was chaired by Raymond Hough, a member of the SJRMC Foundation Board of Trustees.

The dinner program was emceed by Steve Adubato, PhD, Television Anchor. Mr. Adubato is featured here with William A. McDonald, President and CEO, St. Joseph's Healthcare System (SJHS); Raymond Hough, event chair and member of the SJRMC Foundation Board of Trustees; and Timothy Barr, Vice President, Development, SJHS, and Executive Director, SJRMC Foundation. St. Joseph's would like to extend special thanks to the sponsors and supporters, planning committee, physicians and volunteers for their hard work in making the event a resounding success.

SJWHF Hosts Annual Golf Outing

SJWHF Hosts Annual Golf OutingWAYNE, NJ [June 24, 2010]– The St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital (SJWH) Foundation recently hosted its Annual Sports Classic Golf Outing at the North Jersey Country Club in Wayne, New Jersey. More than 210 golfers joined volunteers and staff, and helped raise over $240,000 to support St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital and the St. Joseph's is the Future Capital Campaign.

Hole in one sponsors at the event, chaired by David V. Rasa, MD, R.Ph., SJWH, included Brogan Cadillac, Wayne Ford, Crane Chevrolet, and Valley National Bank. Dr. Rasa is featured here with (left to right) Edward Jimenez, Vice President, Physician Practices and Ambulatory Services, St. Joseph's Healthcare System; Cindy Giunta, wife of NY Giants football coach Peter Giunta, who volunteered at the outing.
