St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center to Dedicate New Lobby

SJRMC Main LobbyPaterson, NJ [September 3, 2010] - St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, which includes St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Paterson, NJ, will dedicate a new main lobby as part of its ongoing expansion project. The lobby will give patients and visitors easy access to medical center services. It features a designated Women’s and Children’s Lobby, a state-of-the-art 256-seat auditorium, and a tribute to the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth.

NJ Jackals Make Homerun Visit to SJCHPATERSON, NJ (AUGUST 4, 2010)– Members of the NJ Jackals, a Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball league team, hit a 'homerun' during their recent visit to St. Joseph's Children's Hospital (SJCH) at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ.

 

Players, including left to right, Adam Godwin, #24, a native of Birmingham, AL; Romas Hicks, #40, a native of Loganville, GA; and Mike Pontius, #30, a native of Wentzville, MO, visited pediatric patients at SJCH, delivered gifts, signed autographs and posed for photos. They are joined here by team mascot 'Jack' the Jackal and pediatric patient, Nadia Velez, who was nothing but smiles during the visit.

SJRMC Nursing Team Shares Expertise and ExperiencePATERSON, NJ [August 4, 2010] -St. Joseph's Healthcare System (SJHS) Nursing Team experts participated in a Video Teleconferencing (VTC) presentation to a group of nurses in Switzerland regarding the application of Relationship-based Care - the care delivery system currently being rolled out throughout the Healthcare System under the guidance of Created Healthcare Management (CHM). Andrea Cavicchioli, MSN, RN, WOCN, Professor Researcher at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland, who is also working with CHM, wanted nurses and nursing students to learn more about RBC from an institution that had been successful in implementing the process. CHM immediately reached out to St. Joseph's to lead the lecture, which highlighted clinical experiences at SJHS, due to the excellent outcomes that have been recorded. The conference was a success and a second lecture is being planned for Fall 2010.
