PATERSON, NJ (APRIL 29, 2009) - Jill S. Menell, MD, Chief, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, St. Joseph's Children's Hospital at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, was honored by Healing the Children® Midlantic (HTC) at its 28th Annual Gala, "Celebrating the Magic of Healing" on April 25, 2009 at The Birchwood Manor in Whippany, New Jersey. Dr. Menell received The Sergio Award, which is conferred upon a volunteer whose dedication, time and compassion have helped to change the life of a child in need. She has volunteered with HTC for many years, donating her time and skills to the world's neediest children.




PATERSON, NJ [April 15, 2009] - An estimated 1,000 lives could be saved each year if heart attack patients received faster emergency care during and immediately after a heart attack. Recognizing that each minute lost could mean the difference between saving a life ... and losing it, Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) first responders from St. Joseph's Healthcare System have begun implementing therapeutic cooling in the pre-hospital setting, thereby making St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center this region's first hospital to perform the life-saving measure in the field.
