Wayne, NJ [September 16, 2009]– The Anthony J. Addeo, MD, Nursing Scholarship Committee recently presented $2,000 cash awards to 14 individuals who are either pursuing careers in nursing or studying for advanced nursing degrees at the 24th Annual Anthony J. Addeo, MD Scholarship award ceremony held at St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital (SJWH). The 2009 Addeo Scholars, pictured from left to right in the back row are Suhaiylan Jones; Jamie DeVisser; Mary Spigarelli; Frances Schulte; Colleen Ganley; Ava Mae Dimaculangan; Amy Casteline; and Jildiz Ceryansuyu. Addeo Scholars Debra Dunn; Doris DeWilde; Joelle Higby; Dawlat Matari-Asmar; Janelle Torbet; and Hong Zhang were unable to attend the presentation. The scholarship was established in 1985 by Mr. and Mrs. Michael A. Simonelli in memory of Anthony J. Addeo, MD, a physician who practiced at SJWH and deeply respected nurses and the nursing profession. To date, the scholarship has been awarded to more than 200 individuals.
