PATERSON, NJ (APRIL 20, 2009)- A highlight of Social Work Month at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center was the 9th Annual Social Work Day Celebration. The event included the announcement of the recipient of the 2009 Mary Faillace Social Worker of the Year Award, Susanne Palombo, LCSW.
Susanne began working at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in 2003 at the Starlight Program. She is currently the Assistant Director of the Harbor House Partial Hospitalization Program, a position she has held for the past 2 years. Susanne received her Bachelor's degree from James Madison University and her Masters of Social Work from Barry University. She is fluent in Spanish, Haitian, Creole and French. Her career has taken her to Guatemala, Jamaica, Haiti, France and various states in the United States. Susanne's colleagues nominated her stating that she was born to be a social worker and that she is able to empower others and give them hope.
