PATERSON, NJ [MARCH 31, 2009]- The 248th Annual New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade honored the Sisters of Charity in recognition of the 200th Anniversary of their founding in the United States by Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton.
This year was the first time the Sisters marched as their own contingent. Over 600 people marched in the Sisters of Charity contingent, which included members of our own St. Joseph's family.
September 29, 2009 marks the 150th Anniversary of the New Jersey branch of the Sisters of Charity (of Saint Elizabeth), the founders and sponsors of St. Joseph's Healthcare System.
Congratulations to the Sisters of Charity for this great honor!
