PATERSON, NJ [MAY 9, 2012]- The Public Relations and Marketing Department at St. Joseph's Healthcare System received awards in two of the nation's most prestigious healthcare advertising competitions, the 29th Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards and the 2012 Aster Awards.

St. Joseph's garnered a Gold Award in the 29th Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards, the oldest, largest and most widely respected healthcare advertising awards competition in the United States, for its St. Joseph's Children's Hospital Pediatric Safety Radio Advertisement, "Radio Advertising/Single" category.
Sponsored by Healthcare Marketing Report, a leading industry publication for healthcare marketing and advertising, a national panel of judges reviewed over 4,000 entries and awarded only 253 Gold Awards based on creativity, quality, message effectiveness, consumer appeal and overall impact.
St. Joseph's Healthcare System also received a 2012 Aster Award, Bronze level, for their St. Joseph's Children's Hospital Pediatric Nephrology Brochure, "Brochure Advertising/Folded Panels" category.
The Aster Awards, hosted by Marketing Healthcare Today magazine and Creative Images, Inc., recognize excellence in advertising and marketing. Judging criteria included creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal. Nearly 3,000 entries were received from throughout the United States and Canada for this year's Aster Awards competition, making it one of the largest healthcare advertising awards competitions.
