At St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center's Emergency Department, in-house toxicology services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Unintentional and intentional poisonings can be identified for all age groups at St. Joseph's Emergency Department. As a medical subspecialty, Medical Toxicology practices the prevention, evaluation, monitoring and treatment of injury and illness due to occupational, therapeutic and environmental exposures as well as pharmaceuticals poisonings.
The Life Sustaining Management and Alternatives Program (LSMA) is an Emergency Department Palliative Medicine Program which is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Our department's mission is to provide Patient-Centered, Evidence-Based Care in a time sensitive fashion to all who seek help 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Like all emergency departments we have experienced large increase in both the demand for our services and the complexity of the care we provide. As the busiest Pediatric Emergency Department in New Jersey, our Fellowship-trained, Board-certified Pediatric Emergency Medicine physicians provide care to children from birth to their 21st birthday, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Directly affiliated with St. Joseph's Children's Hospital, patients are provided with a large array of pediatric sub-specialtists who assist in the care of any emergency from a sprained ankle to complications due to a major cardiac birth defect.
Psychiatric Emergency Services at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center are available around the clock to respond to any psychiatric emergency.
Based on the phone screening by our crisis counselor, patients or family members in distress are instructed to go to the nearest emergency room for an evaluation or are referred to appropriate services.
Psychiatric social workers and an on-call psychiatrist are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
