Services available at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center and St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital
Operating under St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, St. Vincent's Nursing Home, provides long-term skilled nursing care as well as an adult medical day care program for people suffering from Alzheimer's disease. The 151-bed facility is operated under the direction of a board-certified geriatrician and offers onsite therapeutic services such as physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
In addition, geriatric acute care services are offered at both St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center and St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital's facilities with each offering dedicated Geriatric Special Care Nursing Units which follows the Nurses Improving Care for Health System Elders (NICHE) care protocols designed to meet the needs of this special patient population.
St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center is the first hospital in the region to provide a dedicated Geriatric Emergency Department (SrED) for older patients, featuring a 14-bed treatment area with thicker mattresses, natural lighting, and reduced noise.
