Government Relations

The office of Government Relations provides a crucial link between St. Joseph’s Health (SJH), community organizations and governmental entities. The office seeks to develop partnerships with local agencies to plan, implement and evaluate education, screening and prevention programs to address major health problems in Passaic County, specifically in the areas of Cardiology, Oncology, Geriatrics and Women and Children’s Services. Additionally, the office participates in cooperative coalitions with community organizations, the business community, governmental agencies and academic institutions to support St. Joseph’s urban and community health initiatives, strategic directions, economic and neighborhood stabilization. The overall goal is to ensure that the interests of SJH are represented in the development of local, state and federal policy while increasing the Healthcare System’s presence in the policy arena.

Finally, the office plans and facilitates research activities within Passaic County which link medically needy people to appropriate primary medical and dental care, raise health consciousness and/or improves access to care by decreasing barriers.
